Pakistani Minister Murdered in Islamabad
The only Christian minister in the Pakistani federal government, Shahbaz Bhatti, was murdered today for his support for the repeal of Pakistan's anti-blasphemy law, which mandates the death penalty for anyone charged for blaspheming against Islam (oftentimes regardless of the weakness of the evidence). In expectation of his murder the Roman Catholic Bhatti, who served as Minister for Minorities, recorded a goodbye message 4 months ago. More here.
