Founding of a DC Monastery Problematic for OCA Hierarchy
There is apparently continuing concern in the hierarchy of the American Orthodox Church (OCA) over the establishment of a women's monastery in Washington, DC. The reasons for this concern have not been stated beyond the refusal of the newly arrived nuns' metropolitan, a hierarch of the Church of Greece, to release them to the OCA, and a reported laxity on the part of their spiritual father in receiving non-Orthodox into the Church.
