OCA Representative to Russian Orthodox Church Placed on Leave of Absence

The representative of the American Orthodox Church (OCA) to the Moscow Patriarchate, Archimandrite Zacchaeus (Wood), has been placed on a leave of absence, de facto suspended from the exercise of his priestly ministry, and recalled to the United States by the OCA. More here.

Metropolitan Hilarion Meets with US Vice-President

Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev) of Volokolamsk met today with US Vice-President Joseph Biden in Moscow to discuss the life of the Orthodox Church in Russia and the United States. Moscow Memorial for Archbishop Job of Chicago

On 29 January the American Orthodox representation in Moscow, St. Catherine's Church 'in the Fields,' held a memorial for Archbishop Job (Osacky) of Chicago on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of his consecration to the episcopacy. More here. May his memory be eternal! Вечная память!

Status of Bulgarian Orthodox Eparchy in North America Discussed in Moscow

During his visit to Moscow Metropolitan Gabriel of Lovech of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church met with Archimandrite Zacchaeus (Wood) of the American Orthodox representation in the city to discuss a possible visit by Metropolitan Jonah (Paffhausen) to Bulgaria as well as the status of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church's communities in North America. Feast Day of the American Orthodox Representation in Moscow

On the altar feast of the American Orthodox Church's representation to the Moscow Patriarchate, the Church of St. Catherine the Great-Martyr 'in the Fields,' Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev) of Volokolamsk concelebrated the festal Liturgy with Archimandrite Zacchaeus (Wood), the representation's administrator, and Russian and Polish Orthodox clergy.
