New Romanian Orthodox Auxiliary Bishop for Iberia Consecrated

Bishop Ignatie (Trif), auxiliary of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of Spain and Portugal, has been consecrated to the episcopacy. Axios! The consecration took place during the Sunday Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Holy Archangels in Paris. More (in Romanian) here.

Auxiliary Bishop Elected for Romanian Orthodox Church in Spain and Portugal

At its recent session the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church decided to appoint an auxiliary for the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of Spain and Portugal, electing Archimandrite Ignatie (Trif) to the position as Bishop of Mures. Axios! Fr. Ignatie, a native of Bilbor in northeastern Transylvania, was ordained to the priesthood in 2001 and has served in the Romanian Orthodox Metropolitanate of Western and Southern Europe since March of this year. Romanian Orthodox Local Synod for Western, Southern Europe Meets in Brussels

The Local Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolitanate of Western and Southern Europe has met in Brussels, Belgium, to discuss the internal life of the Metropolitanate, the possibility of obtaining funds from the European Union, and the expansion of monasticism in the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of Spain and Portugal. Following their meeting the hierarchs of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Western and Southern Europe traveled to eastern Belgium to bless the founding of a new monastery in Namur on the site of a former Byzantine Catholic monastery. Romanian Orthodox Church to be Built in Guadalajara

This coming Sunday Bishop Timotei (Lauran) of Madrid of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Spain and Portugal will bless the cornerstone for the Church of St. John Cassian in Guadalajara, Spain. More here.
