Prayers Requested for Flood Victims in Krasnodar Territory

During the festal services celebrated by Metropolitan Isidore (Kirichenko) of Yekaterinodar and Bishop Herman (Kamalov) of Yeysk this morning in honor of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist at the Cathedral of St. Catherine in Yekaterinodar, Russia, special petitions were included for the victims victims of the recent flooding in southern Russia's Krasnodar Territory, which so far have claimed ninety-nine lives. Per Metropolitan Isidore's request please keep the Krasnodar Territory and its residents in your prayers as they continue to deal with the damage caused by the flooding. Bishop of Yeysk Consecrated in Sergiev Posad

On St. Thomas' Sunday Patriarch Kirill (Gundyayev) of Moscow and twelve other metropolitans, archbishops, and bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church concelebrated the consecration of Archimandrite Herman (Kamalov) as Bishop of Yeysk and auxiliary of the Eparchy of Yekaterinodar in the Sergiev Posad Lavra's Cathedral of the Dormition. Holy Synod Elects Bishop of Yeysk

In addition to the other decisions taken at the recent meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church it elected Igumen Herman (Kamalov) auxiliary for the Eparchy of Yekaterinodar as Bishop of Yeysk, my godmother's hometown in southern Russia (on the Sea of Azov). Axios! The dates of Bishop-elect Herman's elevation to the rank of archimandrite and consecration to the episcopacy have yet to be announced. More here.
