Oregon Republicans Support Indiana Governor

Governor Mitchell Elias Daniels of Indiana has won a straw poll of presidential candidates amongst Oregon Republicans. More on that here. The biographies I've found online say that he's part Syrian-American and that his Syrian family is Christian, but I have yet to find whether they were Orthodox Christians, Roman Catholics, or some sort of Protestants. Anyone have any leads on that?
