Romanian Government Contributes to Bucharest Cathedral

The Romanian government has contributed 10 million lei ($3.2 million) for the ongoing construction of a massive new patriarchal cathedral in Bucharest. The total estimated costs will run around 200 million lei ($63.9 million). More here.

Update (21/2/2011): In responding to figures circulating in Romania the Bucharest Patriarchate has stated that the total cost of the project to build a national cathedral in Bucharest should run around €110 million ($150 million).
