Former Russian Premier Speaks on Egyptian Crisis

A former Russian prime minister and expert on Middle Eastern affairs, Yevgeniy M. Primakov, has stated that he believes the current unrest in Egypt has socio-economic and not Islamist roots. He also feels, however, that organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood could manipulate events in the country to bring themselves to power.
