Former Russian Premier Speaks on Egyptian Crisis

A former Russian prime minister and expert on Middle Eastern affairs, Yevgeniy M. Primakov, has stated that he believes the current unrest in Egypt has socio-economic and not Islamist roots. He also feels, however, that organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood could manipulate events in the country to bring themselves to power. (As the Bolsheviks did following the February Revolution that toppled the monarchy in Russia during World War I.) More here.
