Sudan has said that he will accept the results of a recent referendum in South Sudan, which put 98.83% of voters in favor of independence for the region. Provided all goes well South Sudan will become an independent state under President Salva Kiir (currently Vice-President of Sudan) on 9 July 2011. More here.

South Sudan Set for Independence in July 2011

Sudan has said that he will accept the results of a recent referendum in South Sudan, which put 98.83% of voters in favor of independence for the region.
