Newest Bishop Consecrated for Russian Orthodox Church

During services this past Sunday Patriarch Cyril (Gundyayev) of Moscow concelebrated the consecration of Archimandrite Fyodor (Belkov) in Moscow's Church of Christ the Savior. Axios! Bishop Theodore was consecrated Bishop of Alatyr and Poretskoye to serve a new diocese in the recently erected Metropolitanate of Cheboksary in Chuvashia, a constituent republic of the Russian Federation. New Bishop of Blagoveshchensk Consecrated

This past Sunday in Moscow's Church of Christ the Savior Patriarch Kirill (Gundyayev) of Moscow and eight other hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church concelebrated the Sunday Liturgy, during which they consecrated Archimandrite Lukian (Kutsenko) as Bishop of Blagoveshchensk and Tynda. Bishop of Nizhniy Tagil Consecrated in Moscow

As part of the festal celebrations of the Lord's Transfiguration at Moscow's Church of Christ the Savior Patriarch Kirill (Gundyayev) of Moscow together with eight other hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church consecrated Archimandrite Innocent (Yakovlev) as Bishop of Nizhniy Tagil and Serov. Bishop Innocent is the first ruling bishop of the newly established Eparchy of Nizhniy Tagil in the region of the Ural Mountains. More (in Russian) here.

New Bishop of Yakutsk Consecrated in Moscow

Earlier today Patriarch Kirill (Gundyayev) of Moscow and All Rus' together with twelve hierarchs of the Russian and Georgian Orthodox Churches consecrated Archimandrite Roman (Lukin) as Bishop of Yakutsk and the Lena in Moscow's Church of Christ the Savior. In his address to Bishop Roman following the festal services Patriarch Kirill called on the new shepherd of Yakutia to "be the protector of this [Yakut] nation and...the father of all believers." New Bishop of Zvenigorod Consecrated in Moscow

This past Palm Sunday Patriarch Kirill (Gundyayev) of All Rus' and twelve other hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church consecrated Archimandrite Nikolai (Chashin) as Bishop of Zvenigorod at the Church of Christ the Savior in Moscow. Bishop Nikolai will be serving as an auxiliary of the patriarchal Eparchy of Moscow. More here and here in Russian.

New Kamchatka Bishop Consecrated in Moscow

This morning during the Sunday Liturgy in Moscow's Church of Christ the Savior Archimandrite Artemiy (Snigur) was consecrated Bishop of Petropavlovsk and Kamchatka by Patriarch Kirill (Gundyayev) of Moscow and other hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church gathered from central Russia, Germany, Kazakhstan, and Siberia. Bishop Sebastian of Karaganda Consecrated in Moscow

Moscow Celebrates 2nd Anniversary of Patriarch's Enthronement

On the second anniversary of his enthronement Patriarch Kirill (Gundyayev) of Moscow and All Rus' concelebrated the Divine Liturgy in Moscow's Christ the Savior Church with the permanent members of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, the representatives of the Local Orthodox Churches to the Moscow Patriarchate, and various other hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church.

During the festive services Bishop Nicon of Lipetsk and Yelets was elevated to the rank of archbishop. Additionally, Archbishop Justinian (Ovchinnikov) of Narofominsk was awarded the Order of St. Innocent of Moscow, Bishops Pitirim of Syktyvkar, Seraphim (Melkonyan) of Baltiysk, and George (Schaefer) of Mayfield the Order of St. Seraphim of Sarov, and Bishop Seraphim of Sendai the Order of St. Daniel of Moscow.

Bishop-elect of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Consecrated

At the Sunday Liturgy in Moscow's Christ the Savior Church Patriarch Kirill (Gundyayev) of Moscow together with Metropolitan Seraphim of Borjomi and Bakuriani of the Georgian Orthodox Church and numerous hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church consecrated Archimandrite Tikhon (Dorovskikh) Bishop of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and the Kuriles. In addition to the assembled Russian and Georgian Orthodox clergy a delegation from Mount Athos was also present at the consecration. More here.

Cypriot Orthodox Archbishop Visits Russia

Archbishop Chrysostomos II (Englistriotis) of Nea Justiniana and All Cyprus arrived in Moscow today on a visit to the Russian Orthodox Church. His visit began with a stop at the city's Christ the Savior Church, the largest church in Russia (and the Orthodox world?). More here.
